Prescriptions

Ordering Repeat Prescriptions

Requests for ordering repeat prescriptions can be made in person, online, by using the re-order slip or emailing the surgery at merse.prescriptions@borders.scot.nhs.uk. Patients can request that prescriptions are sent to the chemist of their choice, please allow 7 days for prescriptions to be ready. This email address is for prescription enquiries only.

We do not take repeat prescription requests over the phone.

Reordering Medication

Can patients please just use the prescription email address for medication requests – any other requests will be ignored.

 

When reordering your medication via the email link, can you please ensure that you include the following: Name

DOB

Full address

Daytime contact number

Name of medication

Strength/dose

Quantity required

Which Pharmacy you would like to collect from For on-line prescribing, this can be done through your patient access account.

 

Please speak to our one of our receptionists who will happily assist with this. ONLY COMPLETE THE HRT REVIEW OR CONTRACEPTION REVIEW FORM IF REQUESTED BY PRACTICE. This should be completed annually for Contraception and 6 monthly for HRT.

Questions about your prescription

If you have questions about your medicine, your local pharmacists can answer these. They can also answer questions on medicines you can buy without a prescription.

Questions about your medication can also be dealt with the practice in-house Pharmacy team, please call reception to speak to one of them.

The NHS UK website has information on how your medicine works, how and when to take it, possible side effects and answers to your common questions.

How to use Patient Access

Provision of Out of Hours cover is the responsibility of NHS Borders. In order to obtain medical advice at these times, please call NHS24 on 111 (freephone). (This number is also given on the practice’s answer machine).
